Dear haters and critics,
I am writing this letter to let you know how new age masterpieces will be disregarded by people like you to satisfy your own inflated egos. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was one of the most awaited movies of the decade, but its release was met by an explosion of bad reviews and criticism. But here's the thing, most audiences will not agree with this herd-like dumping of negativity on the movie.
I consciously made the decision to not to read anything about Batman v Superman until I saw it for myself. I kept my ears and eyes closed and I completely avoided discussing the movie. I booked my ticket and started watching with no expectation although I was extremely excited to see both my superheroes in one movie for the first time ever.
I came away from the theatre feeling I'd enjoyed my money's worth.
Ben Affleck as Batman did a terrific job, looking as buff as you'd expect this superhero to be, while Henry Cavill as Superman looked exactly like the original comic book character. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was terrific with his sleek acting skills. I seriously liked him, unlike other critics and journalists who moaned endlessly about his performance. Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) was brilliant in her short act and even the carping critics seemed to agree on this one.
Now, after watching and enjoying this movie I decided to read reviews online, and this more than anything else was the dull and boring experience. All the reviews seemed to have been written by the same disgruntled person!
Everyone is criticizing the dream sequences in the movie, horrible usage of special effects and blah blah blah. I would like to tell all the critics that it's a comic book fantasy film and if you want to find logic and scientific evidence, you are just not in the right place. You have no real idea of what makes comic characters and plots work. People criticizing the story are unable to understand the beauty of the dream sequences. You say they're convoluted? I say that's what dreams are like and therein lies their beauty.
If this movie is pure trash, why is it breaking the box office everywhere? Why are viewers talking about the sequel even as critics have gone mum about the movie's success? It's very easy to criticize a work of art blindly and reject movies that are made from sheer hard work and passion. It takes guts to appreciate a movie like this especially after the tide of negative publicity. I won't say anything about the movie unlike certain big-time critics who gave away the whole story in their review. That is disgusting. How can you expose the plot to your readers?
No matter what so-called critics think, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the best superhero movies of all time and it's only the beginning--there will be more awesomeness coming soon from the house of Warner Bros and DC Comics. If you are still not convinced of the greatness of this movie, go and watch it. It's better to experience the magnificent cinematic performances rather that criticizing and spreading misleading reviews to dampen the spirit of fans and movie buffs.
