Three weeks after the earthquake hit Nepal, I made my way to Kathmandu from Mumbai along with a team of doctors (who were mostly my cousins and a few friends). We were a group of nine in total. For me, it wasn't just about my Nepali heritage, but also a sense of duty that took me across the border. Clichéd as it sounds, it was a life-altering experience and I cannot stress the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and putting others' interests before your own. I spent my time north of Kathmandu, in the district of Sindhupalchowk, and more specifically in the villages of Listy, Sakhuwa and Fulping Katti. I documented some of the damage and the progress of relief work. These images tell a story that I cannot put to words.
